Our Humble patriotic Endeavor
Promote and support development of education through a Changia Dawati-Tokomeza Ujinga Campaign.
Promote Environmental Sustainability Practices by promoting Climate Smart Actions . We are promoting Tree Planting through “Miti kwa Umri” Campaign whereby each Tanzanian, every year, should plant trees corresponding to their ages.
Promote Domestic Tourism by visiting tourist attraction sites.
It's More Than
A Historical Event
More of this being an Historical event there is more that we do than only remembering the death of our hero, The Late Julius Kambarage Nyerere. We do this:
- As a Humble contribution to popularize the sport of cycling in Tanzania.
- Promote Road Safety practices by the drivers and cyclists to avoid road accidents.
- Facilitate use of bicycle to reduce man-made greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.
- Promote Tanzanian Cultural Heritage, people and life style, ethnic groups, performing arts and Literature.
Mwalimu Nyerere once said that Culture is the essence and spirit of any nation. A country which lack its own culture is no more than a collection of people without the spirit which makes them a nation.
Here's Why We Cycle
We mainly cycle in honoring Nyerere’s contribution in bringing Unity, Solidarity and Peace in Tanzania. But we do more than honouring our hero and Father of our Nation. Here’s more of our why.
We Cycle
- As our humble patriotic contribution on the TUNAKUENZI KWA VITENDO Campaign. Specifically, our actions are based on Mwl Nyerere philosophy on fight for IGNORANCE, POVERTY and DISEASES. We undertake fundraising for contribution of school desks as a fight for Ignorance on our CHANGIA DAWATI-TOKOMEZA UJINGA Campaign,
- To promote Domestic Tourism encouraging citizens to visit historical sites, antiquities, museums, national parks and other tourist attraction areas.
- To promote Environmental Sustainability Practices by promoting Climate Smart Actions. We are promoting Tree Planting through “MITI KWA UMRI” Campaign whereby each Tanzanian, every year, should plant trees corresponding to their ages.
- To promote the development of Cycling Sport for health/recreational and as an income generating activity.

Our Mission
TwendeButiama Mission is to promote cycling to people of all ages and abilities, providing a fun, healthful recreational experience and a sense of belongingness to the community. We do this by encouraging volunteerism through cycling to commemorate Mwl Nyerere as he believed that volunteerism is a valuable part of everyone’s life which plays an incredibly impactful role for any individual. He also believed that Volunteerism helps to develop human beings into well rounded individuals, instill emphatic behaviors and innate motivation to serve, as everyone has something they can bring to the table to improve our communities.
